You could pick up the trilogy. You won't need Prophecies, of course, but it's likely cheaper if you're looking at $20 per expansion. The trilogy is running $30 on amazon, but you could also probably find just digital keys for less.

Haha no problems - as far as I know platinum is just Prophecies (base GW1) and EotN.

I believe you'll still need Factions and Nightfall with platinum. So some simple math 10 for Platinum + 5 for Factions + 25 for Nightfall = 40 dollars
