they look kinda like this. the chute ad the top is where you feed the food in, inside the translucent part is whatever kind of blade you choose. some will slice, some shred, and one is just two large blades that tear up everything inside very fast. if you are preparing a large amount of food these can be invaluable.

I have made banana ice cream with an immersion blender plenty of times! You can make pesto in it but I prefer a mortar and pestle, You can make pico in it, but I generally think pico gets ruined if you use any sort of blending/processing. If you want easy clean up, I'd get an immersion blender- it's great for soups and blending directly on the stove top! Theres a cup you can use to make the banana ice cream. If you want to do bigger batches, I'd get a cheap processor - great for making things like hummus, grating cheese and veggies, dough, etc.

I've been using this food processor for about a year now for salsas and curry paste and works quite well and is easy to clean.
I need this food processor I've been cooking more fresh foods for my family and this would make my life a lot better and I'd have more time to spend with my family instead of being stuck in the kitchen so much.
