The tower fan is more powerful, quieter, and more efficient. It's worked super well for me! It takes up a good bit of space in my 2'x4'x6' tent, but I think it's worth it to have a fan, and it doesn't really take up much more floor space than the small 8" one (2x 8" fans take up more space than 1x tower fan).
