I find it to be just the opposite. Using the round nose insert in the seating die will cause HP bullets to smash/roll inwards. I use the flat insert, just as I would for flat point bullets.

Also, what others have said: seat your bullets without any crimp being applied. When I set that die up I make certain it does not have any crimp being applied as I get the seating component dialed in. After all of my rounds have been seated, I back the seating stem out and then start dialing in the crimp by bringing down the main part of that die. Once you get the desired crimp, lock it in.

Lastly, I bought a set of these for my dies. The ones included by RCBS are okay for the decapping/resizing dies, and for the die that flares the case. Once those are set I leave them alone. But the bullet seating/crimping die gets set up each time I use it and the little brass set screws in the RCBS locking rings are a poor design. Using the Hornady on just that die on each of my die sets was a die saver, for me.

6-Pack Hornady Sur-Loc rings. They've been cheaper, I've bought them @ $12, $15 and $16, and if you have a decently stocked store nearby, check them out. I was in a fairly large outdoor store (but out of my way) and they had them for amazon prices. Since I get hit with sales tax, it's a wash. The Forester rings, although a more precise fit, run ~$5 apiece. I use the Forster on my more precision loads, but my handgun or non-precision applications, the Hornady rings work very well.

What country are you in? You can buy the lock rings on Amazon.

I also left out the cost of lock rings. A [6-pack (why 6?!) of Hornady lock rings is ~$19] (http://www.amazon.com/Hornady-Sure-Lock-Ring-Pack/dp/B001OPTMU4/) and a [5-pack of Dillon lock rings is ~$4] (http://www.dillonprecision.com/#/content/p/9/pid/24511/catid/4/Dillon_5_Pack_Die_Lock_Rings). I don't recall the LnL bushings requiring the Hornady lock rings, however.

For what it's worth I liked the Hornady lock rings more than the Dillons, although the Hornady rings on a Dillon toolhead didn't leave much room.
