Are you referring to these (amazon link)? I've never made them, but I like the store bought ones quite a bit. Toasting them just long enough to warm them up a bit sounds pretty good too...

My favorite snack is Huang Fei Hong spicy peanuts. Of course if you have a local asian market, they'll be cheaper than buying online from resellers.
Found these in the oriental market at Atlanta Chinatown. The black and red packaging with peppers on it drew me to them. The only English on the package was the nutrition facts sticker stuck on the back that says Fried Peanuts (Sichuan Spicy). I’ll report back with how they taste when I try them.
Edit: I can’t find this brand, mainly because the only English is nutrition facts. They actually sound a lot like these. They’re just peanuts fried with Sichuan peppercorns and chili peppers. They’re also slightly sweet and very delicious. They’re not crazy spicy, about as hot as typical mala Sichuan dishes. Great for a snack and were only $1.69 for 140g bag so great deal as well. Will stock up on them next time I’m back.
