You are 100% right with buy once cry once, it was top of my list until the BCP showed up for sale as a blem. SBR is in the future for this, the far future.

5/6"-18 X 1.75" long worked well. It is a little longer than needed and has a flat end. This allows you some room to modify the end with a small point so it can interface with the dimples on the kak pistol tube.
