I always just pick up whatever wired microsoft or logitech model they have at Fry's for $20. Either should be fine.
For a laptop, Logitech makes some great wireless mice that run $25 or less, and run for ages on a single AA battery. For example: http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-M305-Wireless-Mouse-Black/dp/B003HC2FHE/
I have this: cheap, one of if not the best, you're going to love it
The dongle for it is quite big so if you'd prefer a nano receiver, check out: this logitech, why wouldn't you buy something from them?
Either choice you're going to be happy with. Happy laptop gaming, I'm going a year and a half strong.
I use my ThinkPad Tablet to take notes in class all the time. Not heavy or cumbersome at all. I also have a Nexus One with 2.3.7 on it. I use my phone for lite browsing and tethering. The ThinkPad Tablet can be used for hand-written notes and typed notes as well. It is best to use as an PDF e-reader as I have a Gen3 Kindle (WiFi) that I read non-PDF ebooks on (I have 3 textbooks on it and it works great). Annotation of PDFs is also wonderful! I do not see why it wouldn't work great as an e-reader in general.
My setup if wanting/needing a keyboard.
Two very essential items worth reading/skimming:
This post about the article recently posted about the ThinkPad Tablet Experience by The Gadgeteer.
i will be using it to replace my current mouse so it will be like going from a toyota camry to a lamboghini
There is this one by logitech. They are a great company and my mom has this one and loves it.
For a cheaper alternative this should be good. as much as I am a mac guy, Microsoft does make decent peripherals.
You're the only one that can really answer what will make the experience "better". What bothers you most about your experience currently?
Personally I could care less about my keyboard or my mouse being fancy. I want them lightweight and wireless. I would imagine something causing you physical pain to be he first thing worth remedying; I know from personal experience back or neck pain can be detrimental to enjoying anything at all.
Been using this wireless logitech for over 6 years. (The old version with the long usb reciever) The only problem was, whenever I receive a text message, because my phone is near the mouse, the mouse would restart for about 5 seconds. Another thing is, when the light turns red, (the led in the middle is your battery indicator) it would mean that within 2 weeks, I should replace the battery to avoid quality changes with the sensitivity. I'll give it 8.5/10 because it is wireless.
