Anyone who wonders how simple it is to induce hypnosis in people and implant ideas, please read this book.

Some relevant quotes:

If we understand the word "hypnosis" to mean only a trance state, then our ability to recognize hypnotic transactions will be severely limited. If, however, we use the word hypnosis to imply any transaction and communication that causes an individual to go into their own experiences and call upon their own imagination in order to respond, we will have a map that will allow us to become aware of the hypnotic transactions occurring around us. In addition, if we begin to accept that these transactions can be "triggered" by not only words, but also visual cues, tones, people, and things, then our map will be even more helpful.

...hypnosis is a form of education. Ideas, beliefs, possibilities, fantasies, and much more, may be "suggested" and, if accepted, and acted upon several times, they may become a conditioned part of your behavior. In addition, under certain circumstances, a conditioned response can be established in one trial without repetition, and without "practice." ... It is my belief that all behaviors, useful or not, are learned via some kind of hypnotic transaction

Also look up Neuro Linguistic Programming.

If anyone is interested in this subject, I recommend a couple of books:

Monsters & Magical Sticks: There's No Such Thing As Hypnosis?
>If you want to know how hypnosis really works (and, no, it has nothing to do with waving of hands or other similar nonsense), you will want to read this book. If you want to know the "magic" behind Ericksonian techniques and Neuro-Linguistic Programming, you have to read this book. From one of the true masters of hypnotherapy, this is one book that can really change your life!!

Prometheus Rising
>Imagine trying to make sense of an amalgam of Timothy Leary's eight neurological circuits, G.I. Gurdjieff's self-observation exercises, Alfred Korzybski's general semantics, Aleister Crowley's magical theorems, and the several disciplines of Yoga; not to mention Christian Science, relativity, quantum mechanics, and many other approaches to understanding the world around us. That is exactly what Robert Anton Wilson does in Prometheus Rising. In short, this is a book about how the human mind works and what you can do to make the most of yours.

I really enjoyed Monsters & Magical Sticks: There's No Such Thing As Hypnosis?, though it's more of an overview than instruction manual.

The whole world is just roving bands of hypnotists trying to hypnotize everyone who isn't a hypnotist, while also trying to hypnotize their rivals into forgetting hypnosis exists.

I'll just add an echo for Mind Play - A Guide to Erotic Hypnois by Mark Wiseman

There are a number of erotic hypnosis groups on Fetlife. Which is a route to finding events near you and other people doing hypnosis.

For books I also like to recommend:

Monsters and Magical Sticks. There's no such thing as Hypnosis by Steven Heller

Trance-Formations Neuro Lingustic Programming and the Structure of Hypnosis by Richard Bandler & John Grinder

Specifically the Exercises I, II and III :)

Before Mind Play came along and became the Defacto community standard this was my go to recommendation:

Look Into my Eyes by Peter Masters

Your wife will know you are both new at this. One common bit of advice is to "Be The Hypnotist". Which is to say have absolute confidence that what you are doing will work.

The moment you have success - and with a willing partner like this there is no reason you won't - it gets easier to build on that.

Humans have a habit of rationalizing. Which means afterwards they say "I was just playing along" or "I didn't feel hypnotised", which can be one of the hardest parts to overcome. Having some experience and being pretty damn sure they were hypnotised it got easier after convincing them they were.

There are set pieces out there that utilise an induction and the 'convincers'.

In the UK Anthony Jacquin or Jonathan Chase present similar training material for Street Magic.

Here's there set piece.

Here's there inductions and if I got the link right there should be a whole series in the playlist.

(If you want to look into that more then "Reality Is Plastic" by Anthony Jacquin )

But that's not erotic or in the bedroom. His style is chatty and sharp and he might have picked the volunteers from the audience.

So how do you do this in the bedroom?

It wouldn't hurt to "do a roleplay". In which she imagines she is the best hypnotic subject ever and for want of a better explanation, plays along.

It can be that simple.

Before, During and After try and get your partner to talk about her experience.

Remember the way she describes things - because if you use similar language it will work better.

(That's what the exercises in Trance Formations cover).

On the subject of audio files. It may help you a great deal to study how others talk. Hypnotists have 'a voice'.

You can also listen to them without going into Hypnosis and you can skip through parts.

May a few minutes of induction and then to half-way through to get to the 'content'.

Your wife may listen to a few files and just find them very erotic - in which case you can use the suggestions that they are using as material to hone in on what she likes to hear.

I don't know why you'd be surprised. There are plenty of arguments against government regulation of just about anything. Check out libertarian/anarcho capitalist arguments to get an idea for them.

But to be a little more specific to hypnosis, what the hell is "hypnosis" anyway? How do you plan on regulating hypnosis when professional hypnotists can't even agree on what it is? If you've read books like Monsters & Magical Sticks: There's No Such Thing As Hypnosis? or played much with conversational hypnosis, you'll see that hypnosis is really isn't special. There is no sharp demarcation between "hypnosis" and "just talking".

So you can regulate the term "hypnosis", but then people will just make up a new term and do the exact same thing.

The Game is a fun read.

I got a lot out of reading Prometheus Rising, and a great deal out of reading Monsters and Magical Sticks

They are game changers for me. It helped me connect with people a lot more efficiently, once I got the basic ideas of each down.

Very insightful and I agree. The way we speak definitely is the way we think. NLP is large on this factor and I believe Monsters and Magical Sticks and Hypnotherapy looks extensively of "mental maps".

Here is something similar on my blog about these Input/output systems we use to navigate our environment.

A friend who I found out did stage hypnosis suggested this but I haven't read it completely myself yet, supposedly he is pretty good at it and said that that book helped him understand it completely.

  1. Sword & Sorcery, please! :)

  2. Any Studio Ghibli movie. I particularly suggest Spirited Away. As for a book, I suggest Monsters & Magical Sticks: There's No Such Thing As Hypnosis?. It explains many things about hypnosys and NLP and yeah, it's practical. Nevermind the fact that I'm a Psychology undergraduate interested in both hypnosys and NLP; the book is amazing. :)
