No, I don't turn my PC off. I have a toggle switch in between my Ethernet cable and my PC, so the button just turns off the cable so no internet.

It is THIS

I use one of these to switch my Signalink between two radios, no problems encountered there at all:

I am sure if you willing to invest a bit of money, you can do the 10 second trick, I have small switch on my desk, I have my routers wired, the flip the switch for 10 seconds and I am in my own solo lobby. This will avoid any setting changes.

I guess either find a friend who can make lobbies or join a friendly crew or buy a cheap switch.

This is what I use ..

You can get them off ebay as well

Most consumer class routers won't let you. There are some and you could get custom firmware for some routers. Something like this would be easier

something like this?

also, if i have to go through the effort of selecting one of the buttons, isnt it just the same as me unplugging the ethernet cable from the docking station and using wifi on my home laptop?

I do a similar thing with my ethernet line in to my PS4 and Steam Link. Just have it on a switch so all I have to do is push a button and the internet gets routed to whichever system I'm using.
