Try putting this up for safety
You can just cut circles with a dremel and drill 4 holes for the fan screws. If the cut is ugly you can use rubber trim to hide the edges. You can use a fan grill to protect the fan and additionally hide any irregularities in the hole shape. So in short, you can mess up and still make it look good with 2 accessories
Found this guy on amazon. Stupid question, any idea if other hardware is needed to connect the grill to the fan?
