I find a tens unit works pretty damn good for soft tissue injuries. It’s not miracle cure but combined with ice, rest, compression it’s another tool. You can pick up a good one for home use at most big drug stores. I have this one and I’ve found it to be the most powerful of the few that I’ve owned. For someone who works with their body or is an athlete or just beats themselves up in other ways, it’s great to have around for minor injuries.

TENS unit! I swear by it. I have awful cramps that cannot be appeased even with 800 mg of ibuprofen, but a TENS unit (cranked up) will bring me glorious relief. You'll have to put it on before work or in the bathroom, and you'll have the cords awkwardly hanging out, but trust me, it is worth it.
