Nope. Most modern ranges that are above the base price points are convection ovens. For example

Note the keyword there, "countertop". That one is closer to an air fryer, though likely with slower moving air. That is not "typical" at all, but that is one small subset of the convection oven market. Probably 75% of convection ovens are built in, and then the next largest segment would be built in to microwaves. The countertop toaster oven modes are relatively uncommon.

Wouldn't a countertop oven be better than a bread machine? More expensive sure but oh to have an oven!

IMHO I can't justify spending $600 on a counter top oven. I've got this one. Oster Extra Large Digital Countertop Convection Oven, Stainless Steel (TSSTTVDGXL-SHP) https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B00OXSR486/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_hyJ6BbEWG7CFJ and I like it. It was only 100$ when I bought it about a year ago. 600$ to add some fancy features that may or may not work. I just can't justify the extra 500$
