Ask female friends for suggestions on wine to stock up on. I'd keep 3-4 bottles around. It keeps for a long time and you may just end up learning to like it yourself.
Just remember to grab an electric wine opener and some stemless wine glasses. Ozeri makes a cheap one that works really well
As for alcohols, bourbon and vodka are the staples IMHO.
Bourbon mixes with soda and vodka mixes with red bull and whatever juice you may have on had.
Tequila is good for shots, rum is good for mixed drinks, and there are a plethora of flavored alcohols out there too.
Also...don't underestimate the Mimosa. A dry 12 dollar bottle of champagne and some OJ makes a hell of a tasty drink and I've never found a female that doesn't like them.
