After just going through an embarrassingly lengthy amount of research to find a replacement microwave that has a “sound off” function, here are best ones I found with that feature:

Samsung Model # MG11H2020CT (has sound off button) - http://www.homedepot.com/p/Samsung-1-1-cu-ft-Countertop-Microwave-in-Stainless-Steel-with-Ceramic-Enamel-Interior-MG11H2020CT/205574235?keyword=mg11h2020ct

Panasonic Model # NN-SN973S (has ability to turn off sound completely; no separate sound button) - http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-NN-SN973S-Stainless-Countertop-Technology/dp/B00XHE4Q38

GE Model # JES1072SHSS (has sound off button) - http://www.homedepot.com/p/GE-0-7-cu-ft-Countertop-Microwave-in-Stainless-Steel-JES1072SHSS/205755052;jsessionid=BDEC07E1C7D308842C29D4D96DDF81C8

Because I needed a compact microwave, I went with the GE version (and Home Depot reimbursed me for the shipping costs!). Hope this helps someone else avoid hours of sifting through microwave specs!
