Burn scars fade eventually but it takes a long time. Sunscreen will protect the scar from darkening-use it everyday on the affected area.
wearing 3 layers, i have 2 pairs of gloves on. I can't wear the sleeves when taking it out with the new foundry because i need to get deeper in and need more finger protection.

Saving up to buy the tongs i need to prevent that issue. I won't be firing it up again till i can get them.
I wear my mask when i am not pouring because i need to be able to see and masks fog up to much causing it to be more risky.
The flip lid and massive interior space of the foundry cuts down drastically on the risk of popping molten aluminum even leaving the foundry. After that, not doing stupid things with molten metal is key. Putting cans right-side up is the biggest way to stop that.
Using a cast iron ingot mold cuts down on the risk of popping. I still preheat the mold though of course.
The problem with the original foundry is the lid broke. I tried a new foundry based off my research and coming up with a more safe method to melt all my stuff. I used the king of random approach in my first. The lid simply didn't last sadly.
