My strategy is to buy the cheapest mouse I can find with Omron switches, last time I took one from a dead Razer mouse, but you can also find them on Amazon.

Yeah, I've had the click on the left mouse button go away on me in a logitech mouse before. I just bought a 6 pack of micro switches and soldered a new one onto the board.

Works just like the day I bought it!

Also, I don't have a soldering kit (which is pretty funny because I bought my own keyboard parts but with a hotswappable PCB so I wouldn't be limited to switches. Otherwise I'd have to solder). Should I go to some mechanic shop to get it done or is there some cheap soldering kit and desoldering pump I could purchase? :(

if you don't have soldering equipment you can swap the leaf spring from the new switch into the old. it won't be as reliable as replacing the switch but it should get you going. it might help to file the corrosion off the contacts when you have the switch open too.

I don't know about the quality of the dhgate site but make sure it's the same switch.

But yes, I do understand being attached to a particular mouse. My Logitech MX Revolution went thru a few mods and a set of button replacements to keep it working...
