You can plug a mouse into USB port, using OTG cable, and you can use a Miracast receiver on another phone to mirror the screen contents.

But first you need to set up screen mirroring on your Moto X, and you can't go through system settings without seeing what you are doing.

If you'd have the developer mode enabled, you could use DDMS tool to check the screen contents.

Or some kind of voice assistant enabled.

This is what I got: Micro USB to USB, Rankie® 3-Pack Micro USB Male to USB 2.0 Female Converter On-The-Go (OTG) Adapter https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00YOX4JU6/ref=cm_sw_r_other_awd_DGLOwb2SCEAWC

I would try the one you already bought first. Plug a basic USB memory stick in there first and user ES File Explorer to try and view the contents.

Unfortunately, audio recording doesn't work very well on Android. You can try it with a USB OTG adaptor and your choice of software, but I can't guarantee that it's work.

The Mac Mini will work very well with Garageband.

Here's a connector I found on Amazon. Would need to see if it fits into the back of the camera:

(I did successfully charge a camera using an iphone wall plug and random micro usb cable.)

you will actually need two cables. i forget the names of all the USB types, but...

the midi controller has the big chunky USB female socket in the back, and you need a cable that goes from that to the "regular" USB, like this one:

here

and then you need the OTG adapter to go from that cable to your phone.

here

note that this isnt a regular USB-USB adapter. it must say "OTG" which stands for "on the go". normally, when you plug something into your phone, with a regular USB-USB adapter, for example, a computer mouse...it would not work, because a mouse needs some power from whatever its plugged into. normal cables wont do that, OTG cables will. as a side note, something that is pretty cool is if you do plug in a mouse with an OTG cable, most android installs will recognize it and give you a mouse cursor, and you can use it on your phone screen like a regular mouse.

you dont have to order these from Amazon, you can probably get them from Radio Shack (if there still are any near you) or a similar store. maybe best buy or something.

As janky and stupid as it sounds, if you can see the display still, get one of these.

Plug it into the phone then plug a wireless mouse into that. Most Android systems let you utilize this as a cursor solution. Same with keyboard.

Note I've had issues using a wired mouse due to power draw but that's probably because I have high-draw gaming mice.

I've had this one for ages and it works great:

What you want is called a "USB OTG" adapter. It plugs into the micro USB on your phone, and allows you to connect standard USB devices (keyboard, mouse, flash drive, hard drive, etc) - note that it will not be able to supply much power, enough for solid-state stuff but if you want to use an actual hard drive with spinning, you'll want one that has its own separate power supply.
