That's normal when using a regular lighter and cleans off fairly easy. You can use a little soap and water, an iso soak (Edit: Apparently you shouldn't soak the cap in iso. Noted.), if it's hot you can even just wipe it clean. Or you can just say screw it and burn it all off with your butane torch once the new one comes in (That's what I did). Takes a couple days at 2-3 sessions a day but it comes off on it's own that way.

Ronson. $9 for 2 medium sized cans. Should last you a while and it's good stuff that doesn't gunk up your torches. No need to buy that $20/bottle crap. It's not better in any way, it's just a massive premium for a nicer looking can.
