I highly recommend the sabrent USB dock!

It's got 2x USB 3, 2x USB 2, 2x USB power, hdmi, ethernet, audio in and out... It's a damn sight cheaper than the surface product, but can't charge the surface. If you're going to get a dock to sit on your desk at home, this is the best I've come across.

Weekend workspace. I'm an Oracle/SQL Server DBA and usually write some code/processes to catch up during the weekend.

Specs

-Microsoft Surface Pro 4 (i5 2.4GHz, 4GB RAM)

-(x2) Dell P2411H 24" Monitors

-Sabrent Docking Station which allows me to connect one monitor via HDMI and another via DVI. Also has 6 USB ports for my keyboard, chargers, etc. It allows you to use it as a stand for the SP4 but I prefer to use the kickstand as it's a bit lower. The dock connects to the SP4 via USB and I've had no fan/slowness issues from the monitors running as part of the extended desktop.

-HHKB Lite 2 Keyboard

-Microsoft Arc Touch Surface Mouse

-Taotronics Lamp

-iKammo XXL Gaming Mat

This is just Amazon affiliate linkspam and has nothing to do with eGPU. Also, it's regular price, it's not on sale at all: https://camelcamelcamel.com/Sabrent-Universal-Notebooks-Supports-DS-RICA/product/B013WQWCEA

I bought this one and an happy with it so far:. Sabrent Universal Docking Station... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B013WQWCEA?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

I have the same monitor setup- one hdmi and one vga, and I wanted to keep it that way. I have an ideapad 720s. I also plugged in a usb port to the dock for a couple extra usb slots.

Not saying it's better or worse than any other, but it works for me so far. The Intel chip actually can do three monitors (2 external plus the laptop, open).

I bought this POS, everything but the displays worked. Bought one of these, and it works beautifully.

It seems like you have a few Ikea items - usually, within an IKEA series, accessories provide good value/$ IMO for improving existing items:

I use and can highly recommend this dock from Sabrent:
