Its the 2018 edition, not much difference from the 2017 that is convertible to stand or flat pad. But I read that the 2017 had a thick pad on it which was causing issues (case based, I believe) to not get full fast charging. Not sure if it was true or not. The other nice thing about getting the samsung one, it comes with an oem fast wall-charger.

I would suggest ordering from amazon as well, samsung chargers are often ripped off, so you have to be careful.
Can I use the flat S7 charger from a few years ago with the S9 safely? It seems like it charges as fast as my new Samsung fast charger I just got. which is bizzare. Any thoughts?
I recommend you this Samsung Wireless Charger. I bought it ~5 months ago from local Samsung store and it does job well. That fan really helps imo, after charging phone is just a little warm.

No, that's one of the non-stand variations. An EP-PN920TBEGUS, which is a Qi charging pad rather than a Qi charging stand. I'm not particularly keen on them. Having said that, that, the 920, will deliver 2 amp. Best Buy does not appear to be carrying any of the models that I can recommend. They do carry the duo variation of the model that I can recommend though. Here are two Amazon links (1, 2) to the variations I can recommend.
