I worry about the Z-wave method of accomplishing this. I assume you are basically saying to use the Samsung smartthings button in combination with a smart outlet (or in this case you could use a smart lightswitch too). Yes, this could work, but I worry about the lag from hitting the button to the light turning on. I've heard there can be lag or unrecognized button presses. Have you found that to be an issue for you?

I’m using this with stringify to open/close our garage door. It shows up as a door but you can use the open or close state as a button press.

How about a Samsung button?
You could program it to perform a Goodbye, I’m Back and more including garage door control.
