1. I was tempted to jailbreak, but ultimately because it's a web-based dashboard I was able to just load it in safari, then tap the share icon and tell it to Add to Home Screen, which with the right setup, acts like an "app" (no safari nav bar, tabs etc) when you open it from the Home Screen. Combined with the option to just leave the screen always on, no jailbreak necessary (there was a cool jailbreak tweak I wanted to try where you would wave your hand in front of a blank screen and it'd wake, but I opted not to go that route for a few reasons)
   
2. For magnets, there are plenty of ways you can accomplish it, but I've been buying these for years to place on everything. They include these adhesive plates which all of my devices have so I can slap my phone/iPad all over the house on demand (great in the kitchen especially). I wouldn't mind adding a second or putting cheaper adhesive magnets on all 4 corners to make it a little more stable though.

Don't expect it at all. The body is aluminum and there's no real attraction to it.

I had the air-dock which used weak magnets along with a sticky surface, and it didn't hold well at all. I loved the magnetic usage though, and I am using the spigen rugged armor case, and ended up buying a magnetic mount on amazon.

But if you want to keep your charger as a mount, you could buy just the thin metal plates they use here.

With the large metal plate, attached to the interior of my case, the scoche magnet is nice and strong and I don't have issue with the phone slipping or sliding off.


Also, I had my reservations about losing wireless charging after using it everywhere with my n5, but I'll say that with the additional battery size and rapid charge being so quick, I never really have a need for wireless the way I used it to keep the phone always topped up before. Only had a few times where I needed to pop the phone on the charger for maybe half an hour to get more power for the day.

I do not wanted to mess up my dashboard so I went for the magnetic mount which is compact as well as I have no issue with it for 5 years in another vehicle. You might be thinking why I did not stick the magnet on phone ? I did not wanted to loose the wireless charging capability of my phone so I bought the wall mount phone holder and stick one of the scosche magnetic plate on the back of the phone holder.

Actually it depends what size the plate is and where you stick it. Agree with the modifry mount. My dash has never sat quite right since install but it’s a minor cosmetic issue.

I stickied a Scosche magnetic mount to it. Works great. I’m probably going to use a pop socket mount this season. For that (same as in my DD) I take a small magnet tab that comes with the Scosche mount, stick it on the back of the pop socket mount, and use that to hold it in place so I can still use the magnet mount if I want.
