I shoot a lot of video on my 5d2 but the only one I've produced to a finished point is this piece
From my experiences:
Use a tripod
Stop down, f/5-f/8 gives you good sharpness and DoF without losing too much. If you shoot wider, use a tripod.
Manual audio is king, or off camera if you can afford a mic (my video is all on camera audio).
I use this small LED video light that is very affordable and I mount it to the hot shoe with this
Other than that, practice practice practice. Use tape to set focal points if you need to change focus quickly and accurately. (Tape the focal points and then just match your hand to the tape when changing it).
Get a light, these cameras need it for indoors.
