If you get a switchblade from someone like micro tech, the locking mechanism is pretty solid. They're gorgeous knives.
I got my ex one made of Damascus steel. That thing was gorgeous and just as solid as any folding knife
As an EDC for emergencies many times I need to cut open stuff I figured the SOG flash II would fit my need
I really like my SOG Flash 2. I’ve used it for years and it seems to sharpen well. Light weight with the poly handle and I like the spring assist with a safety lock. It also closes with a lock outside of the blade travel. Instead of the lock under the blade that can cause your thumb to get caught in a hurry. Not saying it’s a huge issue, but after getting used to it, I can’t buy a knife without this type of closure again.

You and me both. Smitty's sauce is pretty good. Get one of these and one of these and you are good to go.
This is pretty cool too, but completely useless for eating bbq. Mostly.
