This is what I have, you'll need to buy the GoPro mic adapter for it. And I purchased a cheap deadcat/muff to reduce ambient noise or wind. I had a shogun mic for it originally and didn't realize in order for it to pick up sound it has to be directly pointed toward the source. So I suggest you stick with an Omni directional mic.
i just picked up one of these for my gopro, in my car with two 18s it didnt get distorted! but for phone not much luck, a bit of tape over the mic helps but not much

I don't think any of those had that because..."internal microphones" were and are shit. And those Sony's were serious machines, not toys. I have a WM-D6C that came with a cool vintage small stereo Mic:

Get a sandmarc pole or a gopole or another pole to get crowd shots, grenade grip too.
To record the audio get a skeleton housing and a sony microphone.
