Amazon has short cables with right angle connectors, which is really nice to keep things compact, or to make all the cables come out the same direction which can be very handy as well.

I used my phone before I got my bike computer.

I used one of these ( specifically this one, I'm sure you can find similar on amazon/etc wherever you live ):

The screen compartment is separate from the storage compartment below with a small gap for a cable - so perfect for what I wanted.

I was powering it with a generic power bank I got from amazon:

and also a 90 degree usb cable, because a standard straight one didn't fit in the phone mount.

I ended up buying two cables because I didn't check which side mine should be on:

Worked pretty good.
Downside was because it's a big bag and I'm tall, if I was climbing then my knees were hitting the side of the bag a bit.

Also handy to store spare tubes/etc in the storage compartment of the bag.


Also don't bother with a speed sensor, the GPS speed from strava is fine. Get a cadence sensor and a heart rate monitor instead.
