I bought this which is small enough to fit on the floor behind the front seats. A lot of the CDs I bought came in those paper/cardboard cases instead of plastic jewel cases, which is why I’m able to fit more than 40 in the box.
You could get something like this and make some index cards that sit between cases and stick out to identify.
