I just got a new crosstrek, and I did this thing to it:

I can't listen to the video I linked to, but it appears to show the same replacement. I'm not sure where they got that part, but I got mine from amazon for $12.

It took me longer to open the package than it took to install this thing.

Ok, the video is for a magnetic thing after you install an ecohitch. My link is to a part that just replaces the body colored cover panel, which the video shows something similar to, that works with no additional parts. The point is, it goes from a bland body colored cover to a textured one that looks more appropriate on the car, it costs $12, and it's dead simple to do.

1. I'm not seeing any damage to my paint yet. I did just get a hood deflector and door cup protection via lamin-x.
   
   
2. Get some of those yellow micro fiber towels from Costco. Use those to dry your car, never use a regular towel. If I go to a car wash, I make sure it's touch less then I dry the car using those yellow towels.
   
   
3. Dodge/Chrysler are the worst in terms of reliability. I think Chevy is garbage too. I don't trust any of the bailed out manufacturers. Ford is the only US company making good cars imo. Rant aside, here's a maintenance schedule for model year 2015. Keep up with it and the car should last you a long time.
   
   
4. Crossbars, roof basket, Rokblokz mud flaps, wheels and tires. All of these reduce mpg however. Some nice cheap stuff I've added includes the front license plate bracket, 3.5" yellow fog light vinyl from Lamin-x (the Crosstrek specific size they sell is too small). If you don't like chrome, it's easy to Plasti Dip the grill and fog light trim. Oh, and the alternative butt plug I posted on /r/xvcrosstrek is a cheap cool mod.
   
   I plan on getting Primitive skid plates and an Anderson Designs lift kit in the future.
