Did you know that the first American troops to capture German trenches in WWI was a national guard unit from NYC called the Harlem Hellfighters and that there is a graphic novel about them?
Did you know that Harriet Tubman served as a military commander during the civil war and led troops in South Carolina?
What are your favorite black military history facts?
Max Brooks, author of World War Z and Zombie Survival Guide, has a graphic novel about these guys, and replied to me about it in an AMA. Check it out!
Max Brooks's The Harlem Hellfighters is great... it was kind of an off-the-beaten-path WWI narrative when it came out. (And then Battlefield 1 happened.)
i asked about this and how it would affect his negotiations/feelings about another of his properties being turned into a show or movie. He said he absolutely zero control and no one consulted him about the movie. He said that will smiths production company is not only making a movie based on this book, but wants him to write the script.

Also some web based tv production company is looking to make a show based on extinction parade. He said he was more interested in having control after the WWZ experience.

If by "is writing" you mean "has released," then yes. Amazon link.
I'm reading it right now ... good story, illustrations kind of suck though. Black-and-white, which normally I wouldn't care about, but the style doesn't distinguish between objects very well.
Don't forget The Harlem Hellfighters.
