Truth be told, I'm pretty sure it's just an extreme case of depression. Have you had a chance to read The Pain Behind The Mask: Overcoming Masculine Depression? It's a pretty fascinating book. The authors argue that most depressed men exhibit their depression in a different way, through anger and extremism, as opposed to the banal apathy that is commonly associated with depression. It should be required reading for everyone on this subreddit, imo. It provides a LOT of context into why incels are the way we are.
