You might want to ask around various cooking/baking forums before asking for a bread maker. It seems they get heavy usage for the first 3-6 months, or sometimes even the first year and then enthusiasm for them wanes. I know mine hasn't been used in 6-7 years. Once I learned how to make no-knead bread, there was no knead. (yuk-yuk) I'd give you this one if I had reason to think that you were near enough to make that easy.

If you don't already have them a slow cooker, a dutch oven or a good stock pot can save you money if you cook in batches to make many meals for the week. And like daily_bagel said, a good Nissan thermos can save you lots of money if you brew your own coffee or tea and don't buy out.

Nissan Thermos

...it works 5+ hours keeping water for tea HOT. When I was playing Skyrim over the winter, I would put hot water / tea in there and drink a cup of tea every hour or so, and the last cup was still just as hot as the first.

To add on to this, if you're looking for a bigger one, I have had the Nissan Thermos 32 oz since 2007 and haven't had any problems. I've left hot liquids in it for over 24 hours and its contents still stay quite hot.

I have a 15-year old stainless steel double-wall Thermos that isn't all too different from this or this. It certainly does a good job of keeping things warm for long periods of time. I've forgotten it on my desk at work overnight half full, and it was usually still steaming a bit the next morning when I dumped it out (24 hours later). The trick with these or anything like it, is to pre-heat by filling with boiling water and letting it sit for 5-10 minutes before filling it with your beverage.

As for flavor, I've never really noticed any flavor loss, but I've mostly used it for coffee or strong black teas like Earl Grey. I would imagine delicate green teas probably wouldn't do so great being kept warm for long periods of time regardless of what they're in.

If you don't need to drink on the go (you get to your desk at work and could pour it into a mug) I've got the perfect solution for you. The Thermos Nissan Bottle. It's fantastic.

It keeps things hot all day and is completely leak proof. It's also got a really cool feature where you barley un-screw the cap and then you can pour out of it into a mug.

I make a full french press worth of coffee in the morning at home, pour it into this thermos and then I've got it at my desk all day.

I think this is your thing man. I would just drink straight from it. 24oz keeps liquids hot for 12 hours.

I use a thermos for transport. i can easily fit an O in there. picked it up for less than $1 at a thrift store. and blends in.

I just bought two of these 1L Thermoses and started throwing them in my bag with me when I go to work. You can knock out about half a gallon on the go that way.
