Unless you want a ton of condensation inside you'll want to crack a window which means sleeping in 30 degree weather. That's really not cold with a good sleeping bag and the right layers on. It gets everything nice and toasty and is actually still warm when I wake up in the morning. I heat an electric kettle with water and it fits about the same amount of water that the hot water bottle uses.
I also use a down comforter, with another one on top. In addition to that, I have two dogs that sleep with me and keep everything nice and toasty.
