or you could pee in a plastic bottle, seal the cap tight and snuggle with it in the sleeping bag to retain the heat. or get an actual sleeping hot water bottle: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KPSTHF0/

Here's a hot water bottle in shape of cat on Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/Warm-Wiskers-Black-White-Tuxedo/dp/B001E3XJXW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=hpc&qid=1265307707&sr=8-1-spell

Customers who bought it haven't bought Columbo, but the Vicor of Dibley DVD is in there.

Since I'm not very original, I was going to find an image of a bottle with tottenham logo on it, as a joke.

But then I found this real product that exists, and i'll just leave it here...

u/Whiskeyjacks_Fiddle · 13 pointsr/CozyPlaces

It’s a large, rubber-plastic ‘sack,’ which you fill with hot water. People use it to keep their beds warm, pillows warm, etc.

Best thing I've bought when I get too cold, but it's not cold enough overall to justify turning the furnace on. I've even used it to plant my feet on when it's pretty warm, and it cools me off (with cool water on the inside).

Also my cat is fond of it when it has hot water inside and will cuddle up to it (and me :D )

u/[deleted] · 7 pointsr/preppers

One of the things I try to prep for is the first 10 minutes.

First, stay calm.

Have immediate access to lights: battery powered flashlights, headlamps, lanterns. The darkness is scary so emotionally it will be important, plus it will most likely carry you over until power is restored in most cases.

If not, it will help you see your way to getting to your generator going, light your stove, find your gear, whatever.

Get your emergency radio/ham up and see what you can gleen about the situation...how far flung the outage might be.

I think a lot of people have their prep's all packed away neat and tidy but at 0-dark-30 you don't want to be fumbling for your shit...you want to be in control and in command. This confidence will greatly bolster your survival mindset.

Boiling water for food and cleaning should be easy...camp stoves, hiking stoves or even simpler: a propane grill and a pot....these should be no brainers and readily available and used during good times so it will be easy with limited light.

I would never EVER burn ANY gas inside a house that isn't a pre-existing insert fireplace. Propane, k1 or any other kerosene heater is dangerous for many reasons and not worth the risks they pose, ever.

You could boil water and fill a bladder and warm the kids. https://www.amazon.com/10x7-RUBBER-WATER-BOTTLE-Colors/dp/B0013MTHUS? I don't have kids, so my advise is dubious, but always be safe which is why I'm not recommending a chemical body/hand warmer.

I'd also get the the older one involved early: give him/her a headlamp of their own and tasks to keep them calm and occupied.

I got this rubber water heat pad instead of an electric warmer and it is strangely... adorable? https://www.amazon.com/Attmu-Classic-Rubber-Transparent-Bottle/dp/B00Q2A85K4

The sweater kills me. I am debating cutting arm and butt holes so my cat can wear it.

u/lionontheceiling · 5 pointsr/blogsnark

It was a 2018 gift, but this cute hot water bottle. My feet are freezing most of the year but fall/winter especially. I can't sleep if my feet are cold so my husband bought me this. I fill this with hot water when I shower at night, pop it at the foot of the bed, and it makes sleeping SO much more comfortable.

Plus the cover is super cute and keeps things from getting too hot. :)

u/1over6bil · 5 pointsr/roadtrip

Unless you want a ton of condensation inside you'll want to crack a window which means sleeping in 30 degree weather. That's really not cold with a good sleeping bag and the right layers on. Forget about heating the air, get a couple of these if necessary: http://www.amazon.com/Transparent-Classic-Hot-Water-Bottle/dp/B000MR5RBI

u/MediocreHeroine · 5 pointsr/sandiego

Amazon has great water bottles listed. Some even come with nice warm covers. I bought this for myself and extra for family and we all love it.

u/englishmusic · 4 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

/u/_jeth needs this book so she can have it signed by David Sedaris when she sees him speak next week. I've heard that when he signs things he writes hilarious inscriptions. It would be a shame if she missed out on that amazing opportunity.

I don't need double talk, I need this hot water bottle to soothe all my aches and pains.

u/daringu · 3 pointsr/vandwellers

Take a look at these water bottles, it may give you an extra few hours of warmth and some readily available water to wash up in the morning.

u/kitsandkats · 3 pointsr/Assistance

Just a heads up, Midol is overpriced - generic acetaminophen and a warm drink will be just as helpful to you in your discomfort. Those heating pads are also a bit pointless and expensive, a hot water bottle like this will last you many years and does exactly the same job!

I'd also suggest some kind of reusable feminine care option to save you money in the future - a Diva cup, perhaps, or cloth pads. I use cloth pads, and have never had the desire to go back to disposables. I understand if you're not comfortable with those though, it's just a suggestion.

I know someone else suggested an Amazon wishlist, I encourage you to do this (when you can get it to work).

Edit: If don't don't get any help here, try /r/RandomKindness as well.

We bought some old school hot water bottles like these and, for the kids, fill them up with the hottest water from the tap. I usually put them near baby’s feet, just so there’s some ambient warmth nearby. They retain heat really well and the little sweater sleeves prevent them from being too hot to the touch. You could even just put it in the bed before bedtime and take it out when you lay baby down. We have one for every bed in our house and sometimes my five year old falls asleep hugging his like a stuffed animal!

u/gottaloveitwhee · 3 pointsr/birthcontrol

The internet community has gotchu!! It's how I cheered myself through my insertion :) I also highly recommend a hot water bottle/bag to rest on your abdomen after the insertion, mine helped allll the cramps and twinges I felt later that day and night!

u/LilBlueToddleroo · 2 pointsr/ABDL

I have this enema bag and this nozzle/tip set from Cleanstream. I've been using them fairly regularly for a couple years and they've been extremely solid. Only problem I've had is after about a year and a half, the base of one of the tips had begun to erode and leak. It was because I was using silicone lube on a silicone nozzle, though, so that was more my fault than anything.

The enema bag that you bought, along with the tubing, should be fine though. As far as the valve closing completely goes, fair warning: a new bag may not get rid of your problem. I think it may just be an issue with the type of clip that seems to be universally used on enema bags. Every bag and tubing I've had has had those things and each one has continued to dribble water after being clipped tight. The solution is to either clip it and bring the tubing/nozzle up above the level of the bag so water can't drain out, or to just do your enema in a bathroom where you can lay the nozzle in a tub or sink when finished.

u/grumpyprincesskitten · 2 pointsr/littlespace

I have a dinosaur warmie and it’s my absolute favorite!

They have different ones! I linked you the giraffe :)

u/BladderPatrol · 2 pointsr/proED

this is the one I bought

In the past I’ve used a kettle or hot water from the tap to fill them up. I like having the sleeves on the bottles because you can get the water hotter (they stay warmer longer) and it’s a perfect barrier between the hot thing and your skin!

u/duhvorced · 2 pointsr/tall

Heating pad (or, if you’re old school, a hot water bottle).

u/bdtoyboi · 2 pointsr/BadDragon

I have this one it’s a 3.2 quart bag where standard bags are only two quarts. I have a colon tube I hook to mine to clean out my sigmoid

If you haven’t done enemas before, make sure you take it slow. Building capacity takes time. Do small flushes at first to rid the waste in your rectum. Let the water flow for 30 seconds, stop. Hold as long as you can, release. Do this a few times then you can work on cleaning deeper

I just recently ordered this hot water bottle for my wife

u/lovetoloveyababy · 1 pointr/Maltese

Wow that pup went a long time if she slept all night.
We have to get potty break at 11pm and are up ready for play potty and breakfast at 4am with our 12 week old.
A heating pad helped her settle in her crate to sleep when tucked under her blanket.

u/Kells1357 · 1 pointr/Endo

My absolute favorite is this oversized heating pad. It doesn’t get too hot to burn but hot enough to bring down the pain, and turns off after awhile. Full disclosure, I fall asleep with it on the highest setting all the time and have never gotten burned.

Pure Enrichment PureRelief XL Heating Pad for Back Pain and Cramps - Fast-Heating, Ultra-Soft Heat Therapy with 6 Temperature Settings and Auto Shut-Off Feature - 12" x 24" (Charcoal Gray) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KVYTV86/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_kHS1Db0KH64XH

Although, this is another one of my favorite options. For me, the heat from water is much more therapeutic (see my massive water bill for the several hot showers a day I take haha). But this is like an old fashioned rubber hot water bottle. A lot of them come with cute covers on them. You pour hot water in it and it literally lasts the night.

Hot Water Bottle with Knit Cover, UBEGOOD Rubber Transparent Hot Water Bag, Good for Pain Relief (2 Liters, Blue/Gray) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07K6BMNPX/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_FJS1DbKPR4BFD

Finally, I personally don’t like this because it is too tight on my belly, but some of my other friends with endo swear by using this at work. It might be more discrete in the workplace.

DOACT Waist Heating Pad for Back Pain, Heat Waist Belt Hot Compress Therapy for Menstrual Abdomen Cramps, Lower Back Pain Relief, 5V Electric Heating Pad for Women Men https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07SR1JRHR/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_PKS1DbQTMM4CR

They don’t look like much but they work really well. The portability is awesome and I was able to have two in my handbag for long airport layovers

u/garage_cleaner · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

This sounds weird and very un splurge like, but this hot water bottle is the bomb. Seriously.

If there is any reason that you didn't get it by now, here is your chance. Just think about suffering with cramps or sore muscles and wonder, what could I do to alleviate this horror? Hot water bottle is the answer.

How do i know? I used to have bad cramps when I was younger. I don't anymore, but this seriously helped more than aleve. Also, I had two since I'd get back and lower stomach cramps. Oh, the pleasures of being a girl! (゜´Д`゜)

Edit: Because this iPad spell check is actually a potato. Hilariously, it autocorrects iPad.

u/introllect · 1 pointr/askwomenadvice

I use a hot waterbottle.

I’m not a doctor. Just FYI.

I also take Midol, which contains acetaminophen (paracetamol outside the US), caffeine, and an antihistamine (I forget which one specifically). Be careful not to take other pain meds that also contain acetaminophen/paracetamol (this is what is in Tylenol). You can overdose, which can lead to liver damage/failure.

If my cramps are really bad, I take ibuprofen along with the Midol (or Tylenol). Ibuprofen is what is in Motrin and Advil. People who have tummy issues/ulcers are advised to stay away from ibuprofen as it exacerbates those issues.

Always be sure to check the active ingredients in your medicine to avoid accidental overdoses.

Tylenol is filtered through the liver; ibuprofen is filtered through the kidneys. I avoid alcohol when taking Tylenol. I also avoid alcohol when taking ibuprofen because it’s been shown to increase the likelihood that you’ll get tummy issues, or damage to your stomach lining.

Edited to add: I also use this thing that my mom would use on me as I was growing up whenever my tummy hurt (gastrointestinal issues). I only started to use to help with period pains in adulthood: https://www.amazon.com/White-Flower-Analgesic-Milliliter-Ounces/dp/B0016BCSUC

I live in California, and it has always been in stock at local Asian markets near me—usually Chinese or Filipino stores. You just go in and ask for “White Flower” or show a pic.

Before cannabis became legal in California, I’d use it to help manage the nausea and vomiting that resulted from gastroenteritis (24 hour stomach bug).

Feel better soon!!!!

I have a hot water bottle that I fill every night about an hour before bed. This is the one I have: http://www.amazon.com/Transparent-Classic-Hot-Water-Bottle/dp/B000MR5RBI/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1421280361&sr=8-4&keywords=hot+water+bottle

It gets everything nice and toasty and is actually still warm when I wake up in the morning. I heat an electric kettle with water and it fits about the same amount of water that the hot water bottle uses.

I also use a down comforter, with another one on top. In addition to that, I have two dogs that sleep with me and keep everything nice and toasty.

u/chipotlemcnuggies · 1 pointr/sewing

It's not a pillow, but one of my fav things in the world is a hot water bottle like this: https://www.amazon.com/Premium-Classic-Rubber-Bottle-Purple/dp/B01KSLPKS2/ref=sr_1_8_s_it?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1518421496&sr=1-8&keywords=hot+water+bottle

It's a soft rubber bottle that you fill with hot water out of a kettle (obvs don't fill it up all the way, just 2/3 full). It fits inside a soft cover and when you hug it, it's just so warm and soothing. Everytime I have period pains or a bellyache this is my go to solution. Or any kind of aches really. Or when I'm sick. This stuff is amazing and so comforting.

u/pufwa · 1 pointr/birthcontrol

Ibuprofen is typically more effective for cramps than acetaminophen, but you can also take both at the same time. Applying heat to your abdomen should help too. I use either a hot water bottle if I'm at home or heating pads if I'm out. The discharge is normal in my experience.

u/mokshahereicome · 1 pointr/bicycling

Uhhh... typically when people say hot water bottles they mean like these....

Relief Pak Hot Water Bottle, 2 quart Capacity https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001VJC3ZE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_P9Y6BbJFAG17V

They’ll work much longer, be soft, not burn you if you don’t put in a sock or whatever... it’s what they’re meant for

u/plenTpak · 1 pointr/Android

I manage the heat by charging my phone on a mostly-filled water pouch (something like https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B001VJC3ZE/ ). Water has a high heat capacity so the pouch is enough to keep the phone cool even when quick-charging.
