It works with my Note8 and the DeX docking station allowing me to use the case I want and the Samsung peripherals will give you the required LAN connection.
Funny you should ask this, as I just got my DeX yesterday and since my Galaxy S8 Plus is always in it's Speck Presidio Grip case, it's not going to fit on the DeX's dock without an extender.
I grabbed this two pack and it works great with charging and connectivity, though I suspect you can even use a short extender cable as well.

There is no wireless charging on the DeX, even though it looks like the Samsung wireless charging pad. It only charges through the physical USB-C port.
