Same sight is $20 cheaper at PSA right now: http://palmettostatearmory.com/bushnell-ultra-compact-red-dot-731303.html

If you really wanted the riser it's $10 on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003TWZG4G

Amazon had the version with the riser for something like $65 a few weeks ago, and PSA had just the sight for $60 a few weeks ago.

If you're in the US, you've got Evike, AirsoftGI, Amped Airsoft, and Airsoft Atlanta. There's probably more, but those are my go-tos.

For guns, I'd recommend CYMA VFC-clone AKs (CM040s, 045s, and 048s), G&G Combat Machines, or Classic Army Skirmish line. It really depends on your budget though. If you can go higher, I'd suggest doing so.

All I'd suggest to start with are a battery/charger, and some extra mags. If you don't like iron sights, get a red dot like a field sport with a riser. A foregrip, like one from PTS might be nice as well. A sling might be nice as well. I'm a big fan of my LBX Sling. I'd definitly recommend trying your gun before buying anything.

No problem, it's this one.

Rifle stuff:

  • Get a bundle of regular chamber flags, like [these]. There's no reason to spend that much on a chamber flag.
  • I'm a big fan of Holosun Red Dots, especially the motion activated circle dot (EoTech style reticle) models like the HS503GU. The smaller dot definitely helps with longer range-small target shots.
  • If you're going to stick with the TRS-25 (I've competed with one myself), go for the tall riser rather than the medium. Many competitors are moving to 2.04" optic mounts for a more upright head position, the one you linked works out to be 1.54". [Link]
  • The fancy charging handle is somewhere between nice-to-have and pointless. It all depends on whether your local clubs stage guns hot/cold, and whether you have to drop the mag and clear the chamber before dumping the gun. The 4 clubs I shoot at all have different rules for this.
  • I would skip the MS4 sling and the QD end plate. Single point is good in very specific circumstances, which don't exist in 3gun. Save the cash, and get an MS1. Note that you will rarely need or use a sling in 3gun. 2gun/combat type matches generally require one however.
  • Don't buy a BAD lever. Consider the PDQ bolt catch, or another option if you need to manipulate the bolt catch from the right side of the rifle. See here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W4cwMNIogZ4
  • If you don't already have a bore snake and a cleaning rod, I would pick up both. Bore snake for simple bore maintenance, and cleaning rod to pound out a squib. If you shoot enough, you will eventually get a squib.
  • You will want to buy a handful of mags. Stick with PMAGs, there's no real reason to get anything else.

    Pistol stuff:

  • That holster may not work well with that belt. I would get an ALS version with mid or low ride mount. Or get a purpose made friction only holster. I use a 6930ALS mid ride-light bearing with a G19.
  • I have the same pistol mag caddys. No complaints from me, but if you really want to be competitive from the start, you may want something that allows adjustment for better indexing. Someone else will be able to recommend them for you.

    Shotgun:

  • Opening up the loading port will help, without a doubt.
  • That shell caddy is really nice. I personally use Taccom caddies due to their price.
  • Skip the fancy chamber flag
  • Might be worth looking into Taccom's match saver [link]. No opinion one way or another. Note that match saver's tend to be consumable items, as dumping the shotgun after using the match saver will sometimes break it.

    Transport Equipment:

  • You will get really annoyed carrying around your gear, ammo, snacks, and water. There's a reason that carts and wagons are so prevalent. I personally use a $40 collapsible wagon from Walmart, because I can't fit anything bigger in my car.

I use this for my cheaper budget builds. Works fine. Gives a 1/3 co witness. I believe the medium gives absolute. May want to get something nicer if it's for a high end build though.

I just bought this Bushnell. It is a great little red dot, and tough as hell.

I also bought this cheap riser mount because I was putting it on at AR.

u/Sweet-And-Sauer · 3 pointsr/ar15

Since you bought Bushnells I'm guessing you're buying on a budget, but this is a pretty good budget riser for a lower 1/3 co-witness.

https://www.amazon.com/UTG-Med-pro-Compact-Riser-Mount/dp/B003TX2BD4

Or if you want an absolute co-witness...

u/Notorious_Dave · 3 pointsr/guns

I meant why that riser. You could get one actually made for that dot that will look 100 times better, be lighter, and just be better.

https://www.amazon.com/UTG-Hi-Profile-Compact-Riser-Mount/dp/B003TWZG4G

u/patheticguy12 · 3 pointsr/ar15

I found your charging handle for almost $10 cheaper. You could cut the cost of the charging handle significantly by getting a one-handed one. I used the exact same lower build kit for my first AR. The lower build kit does not come with any tools. You're going to need some tools, such as a Castle Nut Wrench and a punch set

This is kind of optional, but you're going to need a spacer if you want to use iron sights (or else the iron sights will be blocked by the red dot sight. The spacer also helps a great deal is making it more comfortable, so your head isn't awkwardly tilted, obviously this will depend on your eye height.

Don't get discouraged if this seems confusing, if all else fails, watch an ar15 building tutorial and everything will be much clearer. Here's another tutorial. Good luck.

u/MisterNoisy · 2 pointsr/ar15

If you want a good budget fixed magnification optic, I really like Primary Arms stuff - their prism scopes run around $250-300 and are tough as nails with clever BDC/ranging reticles and pretty good glass.

For budget red dots I like PA, Holosun and Vortex.

If you're just looking for a decent cheap RDS that'll get you shooting and hold zero, the Bushnell TRS-25 can be had for $50 or so and will serve just fine. Add a UTG riser (absolute cowitness / lower 1/3 cowitness) for under $10 and you're in business.

u/WFPPtheSound · 2 pointsr/guns

If you do get the bushnell red dot definately get this with it UTG Riser

It will allow you to co witness with the irons. It's cheap and works just fine for the 22 (doesn't need to be bomb proof)

u/ktmrider119z · 2 pointsr/airsoft

Seconded. But, u/Nonscrub if you cant pony up for the TRS, the Field Sport from amazon at $22 is the only other thing worth looking at in this price range.

Sight:

FieldSport Micro Red Dot Sight, Precision Red Dot Only No Green https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00Y3SZEJC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_yzVTAb7YEJJA4

Then grab this riser to get it to the right height:

A TRS-25 with a UTG High riser will give you lower 1/3 co-witness.

u/gooknezz · 2 pointsr/guns

To expand on what /u/Lost_Thought said, the link you included has the standard mount that will result with a very close mount, like this or this.

If you want it mounted to better co-witness with your iron sights, you will need a rise mount that will end up looking like this.

The medium riser will co-witness with your irons. The high riser will give you a lower 1/3 co-witness.

These are the only two items (sight and one riser) you would likely need to purchase.

u/Minizman12 · 2 pointsr/airsoft

The Bushnell TRS-25 with this riser. Works great, real steel quality too. For BB protection get this, you'll need to glue it on or shim it with teflon tape so it doesn fall off

u/64ink · 1 pointr/gundeals

Weight (oz/g): 3.7 / 106

and if you need a riser the UTG ones on amazon are tough to beat, there are different heights. For a lightweight AR build of mine I used the Bushnell TRS25 with this riser--

This one? Did you mean co-witness was low?

u/alexdediu · 1 pointr/airsoft

Since you're new to airsoft I suggest getting a cheaper red dot at first. This red dot is pretty good, only 20 bucks and has great reviews. For the height you should get a rail riser, like this.

Edit: also any normal red dot should fit on your rail system

u/hayon153 · 1 pointr/airsoft

For cheapness you can get a Fieldsport Micro Dot from amazon for $20 and a UTG Riser Mount. I do not recommend using these sights without a riser.

If you want to spend some actual cash on a really good optic I recommend either a primary arms T1 and riser or a [Holosun] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00NC1G0KI/ref=dp_cerb_2). Dutch uses a Primary Arms but IMO the holosun is probably the best budget real steel optic on the market.

u/BrickOfJustice · 1 pointr/airsoft

Field Sport Red Dot and a riser. As for foregrips, look for M LOK grips. I like the Aim Sports M Lok Grip on my G&G.

u/chopsticksonly · 1 pointr/guns

What is the significance of a riser? Also what is the difference between this and this other than the price difference. and lastly would it be possible to buy the original mount and grab this riser?

u/77ticktock · 1 pointr/gundeals

Try this for absolute cowitness... one reviewer indicated cowitness with magpul BUIS

Don't quote me but I believe the 1" high riser would give you a lower third cowitness

u/CrankkDatJFel · 1 pointr/ar15

Looks like I could get the Bushnell Trophy TRS-25 Red Dot Sight Riflescope, 1 x 25mm (tilted front lens) and UTG Hi-Profile Compact Riser Mount, 1" High, 3 Slots for ~$55 prime. Clearly doesn't break the bank. Would my next step up from there throw me in the $200 - $300 range?

u/wallawalla22 · 1 pointr/gundeals

You and I both know that this isn't the only thing stopping me from doing this.

But- I look into it. Looking at risers I found these two.

Best bet to wait for the sight to come in and measure? or is there a standard size for these?
