Not sure about batteries as the GBA is much pickier than the DMG/Pocket/Color when it comes to batteries, but I bought these boards on Amazon US for a Gameboy Pocket amplifier mod and they work great. Just hook the audio wires to L or R input and hook the speaker up to the matching output, add a power source (2.5v-5v) and your GBA will be louder than a 3DS.
