You might be interested in reading this. It's a well-written essay on some notable problems with modern feminism. One of the examples given is that women rightfully fought hard for the ability to join the workforce... But now if a mother chooses to stay home with her children, she'll catch flak for not helping to financially support her family. (One of my friends is a stay at home mom, and she is constantly hit with people telling her she needs to work outside of the home so her mate doesn't have to bear the burden of single-handedly supporting the family.) Basically, the author believes the original women's rights movement corrected a number of wrongs (granting the ability to vote, work, own property, etc), but then became twisted into a new form of oppression. It was supposed to provide women with options, and instead just set up new pigeonholes.

So, yeah. It's all about choices. I'll live my life the way that makes me happiest, and you live your life the way that makes you happiest, and screw anyone who gives either of us shit for it.

Well this female author disagrees with you, and she ultimately used birth control to bring a balance between her career and having children.
