Beyond just the (accurate) comparison to interracial marriage arguments, there have been studies done on countries with varying levels of marriage rights, and those with full marriage rights aren't appreciably different from those without in any significant measure. This seems a bit obvious to most people, but regardless, the hard evidence is right there.

Speaking as a gay man, it's frustrating, but luckily there's an ever increasing acceptance in the younger generations that will eventually wash away the bigots in the older generations that are blocking this progress.
