When Someone Dies: The Practical Guide to the Logistics of Death
Know that you are entering one of the more difficult aspects of life. You are witnessing the death of a loved one and this takes the priority because you are saying Goodbye and you will only say this once.
I have a 93 year old patient now who is in the advanced stages of dementia and the family has been notified and of course, there are a range of conflicting emotions regarding "what do we do about Mom?" This is not coming as a surprise to them and they are busy, working out the details about: the house, her bank accounts, her trust, etc.
I recommend a book called When Someone Dies. If you still feel overwhelm then I recommend you find a grief support group in your area; a real one not an online thing. They can be very helpful at this time in your life.
