A plug for my friend's frozen banana ice cream maker, Yonanas!

I was sceptical before I tasted it but it's much better than from a food processor because the blades spin much faster. It's very smooth like high-quality ice cream. Easy to clean as well. It's super delicious.

That said, I don't own one because I think one-utility things are generally pretty dumb and I don't eat ice cream like products enough to justify the $50 for the machine. YMMV though. If this is the sort of thing you'd be into, I am sure you won't be disappointed.

Nope, its this. It turns frozen bananas into almost like soft serve.

u/Inanna7 · 3 pointsr/BuyItForLife

I probably sound crazy, but I can't say enough good things about Yonanas

It makes great tasting ice cream in seconds using only fruit. No milk. No ice. No yogurt. You just freeze fruit and push it through. And you can add chocolate or peanut butter or whatever you can think of. Of course, everything has a mild banana flavor underneath, but it is worth a shot if you're trying to eat healthy.

Please downvote me to hell if you think I am way off track.

A Yonanas machine. We've had it for a couple months and I'm still amazed at how much the final result is like actual ice cream when it's nothing but frozen fruit.

This...

My wife bought one of these a couple months ago. Best thing we've ever bought. I like frozen banana, pineapple, strawberry, mango, with toasted coconut sprinkled on top.

O.O this is so cool! If you're trying to fill an ice cream void, have you tried Yonanas? It mashes up frozen fruit to make soft-serve "ice cream!" Frozen bananas give it that smooth, creamy texture, and any other frozen fruit provides other flavors! It's really good, and it's actually healthy, which is really cool :)

So I'm a big night snacker. No matter what I have for dinner I still want sweets. I am using intermittent fasting as a tool to save calories for things I really want. I can go pretty long all day without eating and without thinking about it. But then once I start eating... well I want to eat all the things.

There's a couple ways around this. First, you can log your ice cream first thing in the morning. Put it in there and plan on eating it. Maybe your other meals need to be smaller to make that happen. Maybe it is easier for you to skip breakfast and eat more later. Everyone is different. Maybe instead of getting a whole thing you can get portioned out ice cream sandwiches, popsicles, or frozen grapes.

This thing is seriously awesome. I freeze bananas and this turns it into ice cream. You can add other fruit in there too. Same texture and mouth feel. It's not going to be zero calories, but it's definitely better for you and less calories. It also takes a little bit more time/cleaning than just scooping out the ice cream, so that might stop you from going back for more.

And when you hit your calorie goal, brush your teeth. Drink mint tea. Clean up the kitchen and turn the lights out. I like having a little end of the day ritual when I'm done eating, and now when I brush my teeth, I don't even think about food.

If you can't stop yourself from eating after dinner, that's ok. But if you really want to lose weight, you'll have to take the calories from somewhere else, or decrease the calories you eat after dinner.

Yeah, I used to have a really hard time just getting rid of stuff. This is a pretty good way to learn to let things go, and to stop accumulating more and more and more. It can go beyond your closet too--- I buy kitchen gadgets like crazy, but I'm not buying any more unless it can replace two that I already have. It keeps my from buying stupid things like this: http://www.amazon.com/Yonanas-902-Frozen-Treat-Silver/dp/B005083ECS

I have no idea what your budget is so I'm going to say we both need this. I saw you have a similar item on your list but I think this one is cuter (because it's teal. :P) This is the one you have which would also be cool. I'm not picky.

We obviously need this because Summer is coming and from where I am and the current weather is it going to be hot as hell. What better way to cool down than to make yummy, healthy ice cream.

ZOMG We need this!

Not all that new, really, I have been doing it for a while. Then, a few years back, I even bought a Yonanas. Basically, it is the loudest machine in the world that will grind up your frozen bananas into "ice cream." Pretty tasty. Always freeze your bananas without the peel and when they're ripe. Hope you enjoy.

Edit: Added Yonanas link if you like gadgets http://www.amazon.com/Yonanas-902-Frozen-Treat-Silver/dp/B005083ECS I don't necessarily recommend it (I haven't used it again) but some people like it

Dude smoothies are the way to go! I got in waaaaay better shape when I started using them for meals. I hate a LOT of veggies and I found a green smoothie recipe (spinach, almonds, bananas, almond milk, chocolate protein powder) that let me get all my leafy greens in.

Also check out the Yonanas machine. It's kind of like smoothie ice cream, but it tastes amazing. It's like my favorite dessert now and it's healthy as hell for you. I've had it for dinner many times lol.

Oh! This reminds me. A Yonana is great for this! It makes the most delicious "ice cream" out of frozen bananas (and other frozen fruits).

You could try this http://www.amazon.com/Yonanas-902-Frozen-Treat-Silver/dp/B005083ECS

We use the heck out of our Yonana machine in our house.

u/Pibil · -1 pointsr/Cooking

Use the Yonana machine. Stir in everything else. No buggering with the damned blender.
