I don’t know if you can tell, some of those armors have masks.

This next one is obviously not historic: https://www.amazon.com/Yongli-Sword-Handmade-Japanese-Clay-Tempered/dp/B07V5VCW1Z

And I don’t know if these are really antique: https://www.ebay.com/b/Antique-Japanese-Katana-Pre-1800/66841/bn_18104313

The Japanese made straight, single edged swords, used by the shinobi (ninjas). Thing most people don’t know about shinobi: many were samurai that were tasked to spy and infiltrate. They treated swords as a tool, and had no problem with throwing them away, or stealing the opponent’s sword in battle.

The samurai culture around “sword is the soul”, I think was propagated by a Japanese after guns started making the sword, and the Samurai class obsolete; it was more of something written by someone who longed for what he thought was the good old days, even if it is not historically accurate. Medieval Japan was brutal.

Do you think this is enough to get you started on your own historical research?

The other part of receiving visions like this is if you feel any lingering regrets or hangups about it.
