Might as well try! The truck sat unused for about at least a year before I bought it. Everything could just be ridiculously dirty, there was a mouse nest in the air filter when I got it.

I had checked on the Dorman site and this is the one that's supposed to fit, Amazon backs it up too.

Question 3: Get something flat and sturdy to stick under the plastic and pry up the closer you are to the actual clip when you pry, the less chance you have of breaking a clip. Also, as long as you dont break all of the clips it will still look fine when you put it back on.

Question 4: Any time something electrical acts screwy, check the fuses first. For your ESC, if your fuses are good, the next thing to check is your wheel speed sensors. There should be 4(one in each wheel assembly). Make sure they are plugged in, then check for broken/worn wires. If that's all good then the sensors might need replacing. It would be best to replace all 4 so you know their good. I'm unsure on what the next step would be if replacing the sensors doesn't work, that has always been the final fix in my experience.

Edit: Here is a link to a speed sensor so you know what you're looking for

Thanks! I actually pre-emptively ordered a replacement hub/bearing/sensor assembly off Amazon Warehouse deals for $68. https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B000K0052S/ref=dp_olp_used?ie=UTF8&condition=used

It should be practically new/unused (likely an open box return) so seemed like a hell of a deal. I'll get it in a couple days and try it out.

Those are bad about the wiring harness to each front wheel going bad. You need to have the ABS codes scanned first to see if it has speed sensor codes. If so then replace the harnesses that have codes. Those harnesses are about 45 bux and can be easily replaced.

Let's start here:

Find an independent who specializes in BMWs. If you are near north jersey go see Auto Couture in Fair Lawn, failing that find a shop with the right diagnostic equipment.

Cool, good to know. I think ill just end up replacing it since my car is really old. It has over 198k miles. Amazon is selling it for $110, which is $10 less than what my dealer is selling it for.

I believe this is the right part http://www.amazon.com/Mazda-FN12-21-551A-Vehicle-Speed-Sensor/dp/B00KWEP5FY?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_act_title_1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER.
