What a great thread! I am pale and concerned about my skin so I’ve been wearing hats a lot. I feel so on trend wearing my Panama hat, as it seems many have provided links to similar ones. I wear this with tank/tees, shorts/jeans, and sandals. It makes me feel like I’m traveling in Europe. For the beach or pool, I also have a big straw floppy hat from Target that I got two years ago. If I’m doing something more athletic, I wear a black Nike hat. If it’s an amusement park, I have a leopard print canvas baseball cap. It’s all about context, I guess!

My go to trick with shoes is to match them to my hat. As long as the very top and very bottom of your silhouette match to form sort of "bookends", your outfit in the middle can have it's own color scheme, within limits.

Depends on the country you're in. In the US, they have been marketed in reverse for awhile now. For instance, what would be called a trilby in foggy London town would be marketed in the states as the cheap "fedora" one finds at the local Ed Hardy or Hot Topic.
