You have to wait at least 3 months after the encounter for most tests to work. However, you can order this on Amazon or at some pharmacies.

No, not since the Affordable Care Act was implemented. Insurance companies can't discriminate based on health status. The only questions they're allowed to ask are your age, gender, zip code, and whether you smoke.

You really have nothing to worry about. Although the fact the guys thought they were HIV negative means nothing (people often have no symptoms for a time and tests are not 100% accurate), you actually had safe sex. It would be extremely unlikely you caught HIV, although other less dangerous STDs are possible. HPV for example is extremely common. If I were you I would get the HPV vaccine just to prevent infection. As adults, the majority of gay men actually have HPV and some get warts from it and are at greater risk of contracting anal cancer. Check if you can get the vaccine at a chain store chemist or pharmacy. If not try any community health clinic. You can buy an HIV test kit online at Amazon for example. As you said though, wait 6 months for the HIV test so it is more accurate.

If they really wanted to be certain, they should stock every Red Cross can with a supply of these and make everyone take the test before donation.
