u/kaygenhi I've had friends from Spain and Italy that had real problems getting warm in the UK because their body just doesnt warm up and they don't own the right clothes.

In this jacket you can survive any of the worst weather in the UK, I used it a lot when I lived in Aberdeen which is often 2C colder than the rest of Scotland, and I prefer to walk rather than take vehicles.

When the 'beast from the east' came my area had over 1m of snow in some spots. With this I was still warm. It's still good after 5 years, great investment. If you have real serious problems with cold theres an arctic variant too.

Tips:

• You can double any jacket by wearing a hoodie underneath. Plus of course: hat, gloves, scarf.
  
  
• Wear baselayer thermals.
  
  
• Waterproof boots keep snow from freezing your feet. Recommend 'British Army Patrol boots -brown'.
  
  
• Waterproof leggings stop rain falling off your coat and onto your legs, ending up with wet & cold legs.
  
  
• Tube scarfs stop the wind pulling scarfs off your neck.
  
  
• If you haven't eaten anything your body can't warm itself up.

Has Carhartts quality kinda suffered recently? My old jacket was only in its second year when the seam where the pocket was ripped open. I had one of these and the pocket ripped open on the front and just held by a flap. I am guessing it caught in the washer but i have had cheaper hoodies that have not had that problem so it makes me weary of Carhartt.

It was super god damm warm though. I actually cant find the damm thing which is why i posted this lol.
