90% modal 10% elastane makes for a very nice undershit, though a bit expensive. Modal is more absorbent than cotton and keeps it's shape better, especially with the elastane. Get something with a deeper v-neck for when you don't want to wear a tie (you can keep the top one or two buttons undone). I would suggest avoiding a tanktop style undershirt since it doesn't protect against sweat in the armpits. Also, white is NOT the ideal colour for an undershirt. Get something either light grey, the colour of your skin, or surprisingly light blue works very nicely also. The idea is to have something that comes close to the colour saturation of your skin. I'm a guy. Long T-shirt or men's nightshirt. I like my junk to breathe all night, but if my chest is out, I get really cold and my nose gets all stuffy. When the kids were small (under teenage) I always wore thin drawstring shorts without underwear in addition to the T-Shirt.
