Used to have a good supplier on eBay. I now go to amazon and the quality is so so and half the colors aren't very bright. Pink green and blue are where it's at.

These are hella fun especially if your new into the scene. You will make people's days and if your a single guy even better!!! Me and my gf have been doing this for awhile so we kind of keep to ourselves now, and really don't bother bringing them around anymore. Keep the tradition alive!

I don't know if it would help per se, but you could totally put some EL wire on it. Given the boots have velcro straps, and those velcro straps have loops, you could thread some EL wire through the loops/straps, and not have to sew it or anything! It would be visible, but also super cool looking. If you did decide to do that, you could clip/strap the battery pack to you boot and it won't add much weight overall.

If you don't know what EL wire is, click here. You can get some that have one battery pack and multiple colors, or you can get one long strand of one color that goes to a single battery pack.

Alternatively, you could also just hang some little LED rings, or thread some LED strip lights through it. Whatever you decide, I think it's a great idea, as long as you keep it light (pun intended). And if I see someone with a boot with EL wire on it, they can expect a high-five ;)

As for the contest, I like to sew, doodle, and find other crafty things to try when I feel creative. I even took a lost wax casting class and made some pendants and rings! I have been doing these things since I was a kid and it helps to unwind me. I made a silly monster for my dad for Christmas and this lovey bear for my grandma just because I had been wanting to make her something.

I do like to do other creative things like sing, play music, and make up fun stories.

If I were to be chosen, I would love to have a copy of My Neighbor Totoro to inspire creativity in drawing and story creation

or a Klingon translation ring to inspire secret messages between friends

or a Kalimba to inspire musical fun!

(If I could choose a favorite, it would be Totoro.)

I really want to buy a shit ton of these jelly light up rings to hand out to people but I don't think I'll be able to get them in :( Maybe I'll hand them out at the hotel and in line then people can sneak them individually.
