What the fuck are you talking about, what year did you teleported here from? Every single person that I've played over the past and current generation of consoles had a headset, you can get a cheap surround headset for $20

I have a Turlte Beach Earforce P11 I use, tho for it to work on both you need an adapter. They make one called the DAC1 ( digital to analog converter ). I have big ears and I can use them for about an hour before I have to take a rest from them.
Though the link I provided for the P11 doesn't offer any new, the adapter is designed to work with various models of headsets. Not the best option maybe, but it will work for both consoles.
Ah, ok, I'm following now. How about this: http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Cordless-Vantage-Headset-Playstation-3/dp/B000928E34
You can buy the same thing with different badging with Prime shipping for $55.
https://www.amazon.com/Turtle-Beach-Wireless-Headset-Playstation-3/dp/B00B3PDH5G
Many Turtle Beach headsets look similar but going by the blue LED and the on-earcup controls thats looks like a TB ear force elite 800
and there is no way I would pay $230 for them...

If you don't care about hearing other players coming towards you like in COD or anything like that then just buy these. I bought these when I first got a PS4.

Depends on what you classify as good. Some people think good audio is audio with "a lot of bass." The A50s definitely have a lot of bass...too much for my taste. What makes the A50s good is the MixAmp itself. If you can deal with a few wires, you're better off getting a good headset like the Sennheiser PC360 and the Astro MixAmp separately. If you have to go wireless, you might also want to check out the Skullcandy PLYR 1. Astro bought Skullcandy and brought out this gaming headset line: http://amzn.com/B00C2B2Y9A

For comparison I have the Astro A50's. They are amazing and I can use them for PS3, XBOX and PC gaming.
[These](http://www.amazon.com/Pulse-Elite-Wireless-Stereo-Headset-63089006306200/dp/B0087OZ5FG/ref=sr_1_2?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1380792472&sr=1-2&keywords=mic
) are what I would call mid range, and have excellent reviews.
If you only want a ps3 bluetooth, something like [this](http://www.amazon.com/PS3-Bluetooth-Headset-Urban-PlayStation-3/dp/B005NYK7YC/ref=sr_1_2?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1380794572&sr=1-2&keywords=bluetooth
) would work and has decent reviews for a $25 earpiece.
This is the one I have and it does the job.

Does get a little uncomfortable during long sessions though.
did you even look?
Wired: TurtleBeach Ear Force P11 (LINK)
Wireless: Sony Wireless Stereo Headset PS3 (LINK)
Both work great, and also plug into my Mac. Both have separate game/chat volume controls, and options to mute the mic. The Sony is more comfortable to wear all around; softer ear cushions, and a wide, soft head band.
I use this one. It was cheap and works great. Battery life is excellent, good clarity, easy to use, automatically syncs with the PS3, and displays on the screen as your controller does (battery status/connected/muted).
Highly recommended:

/ref=pd_aw_sbs_vg_2?pi=SY115
This is the best one, simply because of the integration with the system and the fact that it can be used while its charging speakerphone style. This is the cheapest one, the black one is going for $44, thought you would want the cheapest.
I have been using this one for about two years now. It works great and is comfortable for long periods of time in my experience.

These are skull candys wireless as well. Really I am looking for a better price though...
They were these:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006W41X2C/
I don't use them anymore, I got them for almost no cost a long time ago.
They plugged into this unit, and the unit plugged in USB. It's been a long time since I last used them. Don't bother with anything other than my pc or laptop speakers these days.
Have a Skullcandy PLYR1 headset, which I only used a few times if interested.
RUNMUS is my favorite and I would highly recommend it.
For wired i'd go with
http://www.amazon.com/Turtle-Amplified-Stereo-Headset-Playstation-3/dp/B00E5UHSXI/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1395154095&sr=1-1&keywords=turtle+beach+ps3
Great sound with independent game/voice volume controls(Which I hate that the Sony Wireless lacks.)
Turtle Beach P11
Good sound and mic quality.
I use them both for PC and PS3, if you have an xbox you could get ones that work with both xbox and pc.
Get these. Amazing if you don't mind it not being wireless.

I accidentally deleted my comment so I'm posting it again:
I've had to delete stuff recently because I am out of space so this HDD would be quite useful.
Also, this headset would be quite an upgrade from the palm pre earbuds I have been using for the last two years.
Hello, Goodbye~
I just got a pair of these after my turtle beach headphones broke. http://www.amazon.com/Turtle-Beach-Headphone-Playstation-4-3/dp/B00MNP9PD8?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage
They do work pretty good, but I feel like the comfort on the turtle beach was nicer over long periods of time playing. The TB also allow you to adjust the volume of chat and game volume separately. The Gold can do this sorta, but instead of game and chat being separate it just lowers the game or chat to raise the other, which is still nice. I also like that the mic on the Golds is hidden and doesn't get in the way when im drinking or eating something.
I use the turtle beach p11's and I haven't had a problem with them in the three years I have had them.
You can get them here
Quick question, are these the same headset? Trying to find a cheaper price :)
There's also these but they seem to be different than the ones you linked.
Works with PC, PS4 and PS3, Skullcandy PLYR 1. I picked them up for $130 when amazon had a sale, worth the money.
I don't know how you get that from what I said but regardless there are other options:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MNP9PD8/ref=twister_B01KZUL1CA?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
May I instead recommend https://www.amazon.com/Turtle-Beach-Stealth-Wireless-Headphone-Surround/dp/B00MNP9PD8/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1486917575&sr=8-2&keywords=stealth+400
Good quality (had mine awhile now with zero issues and I use it for both my Xbox One and PS4) Works wirelessly on PS4 (have to plug it in via cable to the controller on the Xbox) and works for both voice chat on PC and PC4.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MNP9PD8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_FKLRybKFQGEZM
Do you think this would work for pc? The consoles in the title scare me. The one Stealth 450 on Amazon ships in 1-3 weeks.
I'm in the market for a good multipurpose headset for my PS4 and PC. Originally my budget was going to be <$100 but when browsing Amazon these piqued my interest.
Turtle Beach Stealth 500P
Fully wireless, 15 hours of play time, 7.1 DTS surround, look comfy as can be. However, it's advertised as a PS4, PS3, and Mobile compatible headset. Down the page there is a product matrix, where it claims that the headset is NOT PC compatible.
The previous generation (if you will) headset, the TB Ear Force Stealth 400, boasts a similar feature set sans 7.1 surround. It is also listed as not PC compatible, however in the review section (and Q&A) people are reporting that it is in fact PC compatible.
Does anyone have experience with the Stealth 400? I would appreciate some input. The 500P looks like a great value for the dollar (especially considering the Xbox One equivalent Stealth 500X is priced $100 more) and I'm tempted to preorder.

I play a lot in the bedroom when my wife is asleep so I put a fair bit of thought into it and decided on the Turtle Beach Stealth.
https://www.amazon.ca/Turtle-Beach-Force-Stealth-500P/dp/B00MNP9PD8/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1458434973&sr=1-1&keywords=turtle+beach+stealth
Comfy, I'd rate them a 9/10 the downfall being a blinking light on both sides while they're turned on.

I absolutely love these.

I always use HyperX headsets but those are generally more than 50. This one is only about 30 and seems well liked based on reviews.
http://www.amazon.com/Turtle-Amplified-Stereo-Headset-Playstation-3/dp/B00E5UHSXI
This says it is 12', but even if you sit 10' from your tv, i don't think only having 2' of slack will be comfortable or doable. If you are that far you will probably need a wireless. My friend has the px5 from TurtleBeach and he swears by them. He said he spent $150 for refurbished a year or so ago, but will still probably run you $100-$150 for refurbished. Good thing about those is it is both xbox and ps3, digital sound and dual channel bluetooth voice (for game or answering your phone).

Turtle beach is pretty good
Do you realize you could have just paid less, and gotten a wired turtle beach surround sound headset?
Pros to your setup, would include surround sound which is a huge advantage in gaming over stereo headphones, as well as a mic. Not to mention you would have still gotten the DSS included with the headset.. Unless I'm missing the point of your post. You are definitely not just paying for the name when you buy a quality gaming headset.
A quality headset such as Turtle Beach
