Now, it’s a $30 opener today, which is probably what that overcomplicated piece of garbage is worth but back in the day, that was an ultra-luxury $200 wine opening piece of shit.

But ok, I’ll give it a shot. First, the damned thing comes in a box. Well fuck that. Not only is it never going to travel with me, it’s never going to do any real work, and it’ll almost certainly never leave the room I place that damn box in. Oh, and it’s big. Yup. Never leaving the box after tonight.
The first thing you’ll notice is that it’s heavy and the weight isn’t well balanced. It’s also way complicated. Now, this thing is real similar in construction and use to the speed opener I’ve got mounted on the bar at work. It’s a fine tool that works fast — hence the fucking name, asshole — that I use when I’ve got to rip through a dozen bottles of cheap red wine so I can make sangrias for Sunday morning. There’s not a damned thing elegant about it, I’m not even cutting the foil because that iron bastard will pull corks right through it. Fuck your presentation son, this is work.
This isn’t a speed opener though. Without having it mounted to the bar, there’s no way you’re ripping through five or six bottles in rapid succession. Not that you’d do that at home, but I also don’t know how you party, so whatever. You’ve got that slow assed janky hand close around the bottle thing and God for fucking Bid you don’t get it square on the bottle and hold on with the strength of Atlas, you might as well be trying jam your dick in that cork, because it just ain’t gonna work.
When it works though, I gotta say the pull is straight and easy and that cork is going to come out. If, of course, you got it on the bottle right, which you fucking didn’t because you’re a goddamn fool who doesn’t know what the right tool is for opening a bottle of wine.
Presentation? Fuck that, might as well open champagne bottles with a sledgehammer. Which I’ve done in the same manner as I’ve done with a proper fucking saber, but I sure as hell wouldn’t do at a nice proper dinner. Well, maybe I fucking would but I sure as fuck would pretend I was being fancy.
I can open bottles faster and better with a proper waiter’s corkscrew. Again, why haven’t you bought one of those fucking things? I’ll look better doing it and if I drop it it won’t break.
Oh. The foil cutter is a separate item? Don’t you know a proper wino is going to lose that inside a week and then I’m using a goddamn fucking kitchen knife like some kind of heathen caveman who thinks it’s ok to use a screwdriver as a chisel.
Right tool. Right job. Fucking. Bullshit. That’s what a Rabbit opener is.

When Costco had a Rabbit wine-opener kit, I immediately got it. Bottles take less than 3 seconds to open once the foil is removed, and the screw hasn't acted up on me yet. I haven't had to use the second screw yet.
