At a higher price point, Birkenstock has some styles that are pretty cute, like the Chania.

I have bad feet (usually I wear custom orthotic inserts), so even though I'm also a broke first-year grad student I invested in a couple pairs of Birkenstocks - sometimes you can catch them on sale at 6pm or Amazon. I got the Larisa for ~$65 and the Adria for ~$50.

They're out there, just waiting for you!

Love both fits, your jeans game is on point.

People on Amazon seem to like these madden girl ones a lot. 4.5 stars with 585 reviews.

So there is this style known as huarache sandals there are a ton of variations on the style in a range of prices, but generally they are usually a basket weave look and usually have a closed toe.

I would choose a floral print. Flats, if you must, but maybe a low wedge? if you can tolerate a bit of height.

This is my favorite flat

Or this style of low wedge sandal

This offer is discontinued but I'm just using it as an example.

I would pick up the blue from the shoes for jewelry or a clutch.

I wouldn't use another color as a belt. It will break the coral color up into two short blocks instead of one length of fabric.

I have two pairs of the sola fitflops, they’re leather slides with really, really nice cushioning. highly recommend!

Can these shoes be business casual? What about the higher heel version?

I love Clark’s! I’ve been living in these lately, would be good for travel:

Also I second the other comments about Tevas. I have a pair that I use for longer hikes or water activities and I just use them like water shoes. They are great for lots of walking in tourist situations.

I got a pair of rose gold Madden Girl Birkenstock style sandals last summer and lived in them the past two summers, they’re so comfy and cute! I hot another rose gold pair earlier this summer but haven’t worn them yet. Here’s a link to the same style on amazon but in different colors (looks like rose gold is all sold out but there are a lot of other cute colors):

The only thing is I noticed the inside of the straps was rubbing my feet uncomfortably at first so I cut some moleskin and stuck it on the underside where I was being rubbed, and I haven’t had any issues!

my .02 cents is that u have to go to a pediatrist and figure out which type of foot you have. that goes a looooong way in knowing what you need. i found out that my second metatarsel sits lower than it should and so my feet will continue to hurt if i do not wear arch support. now that i know, i am good! usually the arch support in womens shoes is crap so i go with a flatshoe and i add a cheap insert from cvs. i cant wear the same shoe two days in a row and that goes for the insoles too. i find switching it up each day really helps with the soreness not coming back. bring the insoles when trying on shoes to make sure you get the right size and that the shoe will work with an insole.

unfortunately sandals dont work for this. my fave out of the box sandal is teva: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00DQVBXJ2/ref=mp_s_a_1_28?ie=UTF8&qid=1519076442&sr=8-28&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=teva+flip+flops+women

Clarks makes some extremely cute, comfortable sandals in the ~$30-$60 price range and you can buy them on Amazon. They come in many different widths as well. I've got these and these and I love them! I also have a pair of their loafers (these) and they're awesome too. All are super comfy and can support long walks.
